STORAGE FAQs

  • When can I move in?

    If there is a storage space available that meets your specific storage needs, you can move in anytime during normal access hours. Want to reserve your price, just book the unit online! Reserve online immediately while not being stuck if you change your mind, it secures your price and unit while giving you time! No pressure, the way storage should be.

  • How much notice needs to be given before I move out?

    All contracts are month-to-month. However, we do request a 10-day notice before you move out. We also give you back money for any days paid past the day you vacate the unit. You aren’t stuck or tied in if you no longer need the storage unit.

  • What type of documentation do I need to provide in order to rent a space?

    We require a government-issued photo ID (example: driver’s license, provincial ID, or passport). Some units and deals do require a valid credit card to be kept on file for security reasons.

  • Do I need to sign a long-term lease?

    No, we rent on a month-to-month basis unless the customer requests otherwise. We prorate the monthly fee and you only pay for the days you use. You are not locked into a strict lease. BRITEBOX Storage Co. strives to provide an honest storage experience for all of our customers. No hidden fees. No minimum stay.

  • How do I make a payment?

    You can pay in person or make a payment through our website. You may also sign up to have payments automatically deducted from your credit card/savings/checking account monthly. Businesses can also pay with corporate cheques. Personal cheques are not accepted and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

  • What forms of payments do you accept?

    Debit card, money orders, VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover and cash. We also accept corporate cheques but unfortunately not personal cheques.

  • Do you sell boxes and storage supplies?

    Yes. We sell various moving supplies in our office. We provide a variety of moving box sizes and wardrobe boxes. We provide all items to be your one stop shop for moving and packaging supplies.

  • How do I know how much storage space I will need?

    You can either use our Storage Calculator on our website or call our manager for assistance. If you find out you need more or less space we can easily transfer your unit to another without any extra charge!

  • Are there any items that I am NOT able to store?

    Liquids, explosives, flammable liquids, toxic materials, animals and perishables. Please do not store any type of food items (human or pet consumable) as these can attract pests. BRITEBOX Storage Co. does provide third party pest control and is happy to tell you we have never had any reported problems. If storing a vehicle please ensure the fuel tank is empty. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding a specific item.

  • What is the difference between types of storage units?

    What you will run into most with self storage are ground structure buildings. Ground built units are designed for proper airflow, engineered for safety and provide great security. We have heated and non-heated storage units. Interior hallway or drive up units, whichever works best for your needs.

  • Does there have to be someone in the office to let me through the security gates?

    No. At the time of signing you will be given your own security pass code that will allow you access to your unit during normal access hours. As an increased level of service we also provide a gate app for iOS and Android that allows for the gate to be opened remotely from your cellular phone!

  • Do you have handcarts and dollies available at your facility?

    Yes. You are welcome to use our complimentary carts to move in.
